Job Title: Storekeeper / Warehouse Coordinator
Location: Houma, LA 70364
Duration: 11 months (possible extension)
Payrate: $20/hour on W2

Position Summary
The Storekeeper is responsible for handling, storing, receiving, issuing, and tracking materials and inventory within the warehouse while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. This role supports efficient warehouse operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring materials are available to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving incoming shipments and checking them against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Inspecting materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Storing materials in the correct warehouse locations.
- Picking, packing, and issuing materials as needed by operations.
- Performing inventory cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Using barcode scanners and inventory systems to track materials.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Operating a forklift and other material handling equipment (training/certification provided if needed).
- Following warehouse procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational training in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Operations is a plus.
- 1–3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or materials management preferred.
- Experience receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials.
- Familiarity with inventory counting and stock reconciliation processes.
- Basic computer skills, including:
- Microsoft Excel
- Email communication
- Data entry
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or similar inventory management software.
- Experience with barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of:
- Material receiving and inspection
- Stock storage and binning practices
- FIFO / FEFO inventory methods
- Cycle counting and physical inventory procedures
- Warehouse safety standards and regulations
