SKILLS REQUIRED:

Primary (Must-Have):

• 13 years of extensive experience as a Database Analyst, Database Developer, or Data Architect within enterprise transactional ecosystems

• Banking & Financial Services Domain Expertise: Deep background handling retail banking architectures, core transaction environments, financial reporting systems, or teller platforms

• FIS Platform Proficiency: Direct hands-on experience or prior project engagements working intimately with FIS (Fidelity National Information Services) core banking platforms

• Advanced SQL & PL/SQL Engineering: Mastery in writing, refactoring, and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, database triggers, and data-manipulation scripts

• Performance Optimization: Proven track record tuning highly active relational databases, identifying execution bottlenecks, and indexing for massive multi-tier transactional scale

Secondary (Good to Have):

• Skilled in data visualization practices, including the creation of operational performance dashboards and analytical data products

• Comprehensive mastery of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies within large, distributed, and cross-functional engineering frameworks

• Strong business systems analysis background with the ability to map data flows between front-end interfaces (e.g., teller systems) and backend databases

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly accomplished, elite Senior Database Analyst for a business-critical, remote contract engagement supporting a major player in retail banking and financial services. This high-impact role is designed for a database expert possessing over a decade of domain expertise, specifically tailored around core FIS banking platforms. Operating in an Agile environment, the selected professional will own backend data engineering, performance troubleshooting, and database modernization initiatives. You will bridge the gap between business-critical functionalities and scalable database logic, ensuring the bulletproof integrity, speed, and reliability of high-volume financial transactions.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engineer Scalable Database Logic: Design, write, and refine advanced SQL and PL/SQL scripts, packages, and stored procedures to drive high-availability banking systems and financial reporting platforms

• Optimize High-Volume Transactions: Analyze database execution paths and query performance to eliminate processing latency, supporting real-time retail teller transactions and batch cycles

• Translate Technical Requirements: Partner directly with product owners, business analysts, and financial stakeholders to decompose complex compliance and operational requirements into resilient database structures

• Govern Data Quality & Integrity: Perform deep-dive data profiling and validation across financial systems to guarantee accurate data flow, ledger synchronization, and secure storage compliance

• Own the Database Lifecycle: Lead database development, testing routines, environment deployment, and tier-3 production support activities in sync with broader cloud and software engineering cohorts
