What are the responsibilities and job description for the Provider Relations Specialist position at Pacer Group?
Job Title: Provider Engagement Account Manager
Duration: 6 (Possibility to extension or conversion)
Location: Remote, OK (Candidates must reside in OK)
Daily schedule: M-F 8am-5pm CST (Training M-F 8am-5pm CST – 4-6 weeks 1on1)
Note: Provider offices – drive time will likely be under 2 hours, will try to make it as close as possible to the candidate.
Travel will be about 2 days per week. If drive time is 2 hours, will be provided a rental car.
Do you have any additional upcoming hiring needs, or is this request part of a larger hiring initiative?
- We assist providers with claims questions, adding/terming providers to their practice, educate on ways to improve quality scores and any other need a provider may have.
- We currently have one PEAM out on an extended Leave of Absence and in order to continue assisting providers, we need to fill that position until they return.
- Managing provider performance, will be visiting provider offices
Typical Day in the Role
- Job duties include communication with providers and other teams through OCH via email, telephone and in person.
- Researching issues as needed, in-person visits to providers, as well as other duties as assigned.
- No two days look the same as we respond to whatever issue a provider is having that day.
Education Required:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in related field
Years of experience required:
- 3 years of experience to include insurance, claims and/or direct contact with providers
- Three years of provider relations, provider claims/reimbursement, or contracting experience.
- Knowledge of health care, managed care, Medicare, or Medicaid.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a related field preferred.
- Claims billing knowledge preferred.
