Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension)

Pay Range: $28.98 – $43.47/hour (W2)

Overview
The Buyer – Operational Procurement is responsible for executing day-to-day procurement activities in support of power generation facilities. This role focuses on managing purchase orders, sourcing suppliers, conducting RFQs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services while maintaining compliance and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert approved purchase requisitions into accurate purchase orders
- Identify and evaluate suppliers; conduct RFQs and pricing analysis
- Perform quote comparisons and total cost analysis
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and issue resolution
- Ensure alignment with strategic sourcing agreements and procurement policies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and timelines
- Support supplier onboarding and safety qualification processes
- Track deliveries, resolve invoice discrepancies, and support procure-to-pay cycle
- Maintain and update blanket/outline agreements and pricing
- Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and documentation standards
- Analyze recurring spend patterns and support sourcing initiatives
- Assist in outage planning and project-based procurement activities
Working Conditions
- Fully onsite role at a power plant and office environment
- Occasional overtime during outages or special projects
- Travel to nearby plant locations required
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of procurement or buying experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, reporting)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 5–7 years of sourcing/buying experience
- Experience in power generation, manufacturing, or industrial environments
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- ISM certification (e.g., CPSM)
