POSITION OVERVIEW
The Performance Engineer will design, execute, and evaluate high-availability performance testing strategies for cloud-native and distributed systems onsite in Vienna, VA. Reporting within the IT performance engineering group, this individual contributor will analyze load, stress, and endurance scenarios across Docker and Kubernetes environments using NeoLoad and JMeter. The engineer will solve critical application scalability and reliability bottlenecks by performing root cause analysis with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and Splunk.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, script, and execute comprehensive load, stress, and endurance performance tests using NeoLoad, JMeter, and LoadRunner.
• Monitor and perform root cause analysis on performance bottlenecks using AppDynamics, Dynatrace distributed traces, and Splunk logs.
• Evaluate containerized microservices and cloud deployments in Docker and Kubernetes environments to ensure system scalability and efficiency.
• Execute auto-scaling, chaos, and failover testing to analyze system resiliency against pod/node failures, network exhaustion, and dependency limits.
• Collaborate with technical teams using Java, Python, and SQL to optimize slow components and establish performance engineering best practices.
