What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oracle EPM Technical Application Consultant position at Pacer Group?
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Build: Develop and enhance Oracle EPM Cloud solutions using enterprise best practices.
- SME Support: Serve as the ongoing technical Subject Matter Expert for production applications, handling everything from break/fix to medium-scale enhancements.
- Process Implementation: Design end-to-end planning processes in EPBCS/Planning (driver-based planning, scenario modeling, and Smart View integration).
- Optimization: Develop and performance-tune calculation scripts, business rules, and Groovy scripts to ensure scalability and fast execution.
- Data Integration: Build and maintain dimension builds, data loads, and batch processes, integrating GL and upstream finance data via Data Management.
- Cloud Migration: Support on-prem to EPM Cloud migrations, including artifact refactoring.
Required Technical Expertise
- 13 years of total experience, with at least 10 years focused specifically on Oracle EPM (Cloud depth is essential).
- Core Modules: Significant experience with EPBCS / Planning / Essbase. Exposure to FCCS, HFM, or EDMCS/DRM/DRG is highly preferred.
- Expert Level Building: Proven track record with Business Rules/Calc Scripts, Data Management, and Metadata management (DRM hierarchies/mappings).
- Automation & Scripting: Strong proficiency in PowerShell and Batch (Python is a major plus).
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to work directly with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A leaders in a large enterprise environment.
Soft Skills & "Nice to Haves"
- Exceptional communication skills—must be able to explain technical EPM concepts to non-technical business partners.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with end-to-end EPM implementations (Requirements → Deployment).
