Food Recovery Project Coordinator

Are you an organized project coordinator who enjoys bringing together community partners, managing logistics, and keeping multiple moving pieces on track? Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a Food Recovery Project Coordinator to support a short-term initiative connecting surplus nutritious food from local donors with food assistance agencies throughout the Seattle area.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the Food Recovery, including participating agency support, donor relationships, transportation, logistics, and stakeholder communication
• Assess participating agency needs related to transportation, storage, infrastructure, scheduling, and other operational requirements
• Identify and build relationships with grocery stores, farms, restaurants, distributors, and other potential food donors
• Match food donors with participating agencies based on food availability, location, storage capacity, scheduling, and agency needs
• Coordinate weekly food recovery pickups and deliveries while working closely with drivers, donors, participating agencies, and other project stakeholders
• Track food recovery activity, donors, participating agencies, pickups, deliveries, transportation needs, and other pilot outcomes
• Coordinate stakeholder check-ins, troubleshoot operational challenges, and prepare updates and a final report outlining pilot outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations

What We’re Looking For

• Experience coordinating projects, programs, logistics, food systems initiatives, community-based programs, or related work
• Strong project management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with experience coordinating multiple partners, schedules, and operational activities
• Experience collecting and organizing program data and preparing clear written reports
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adapting to changing schedules, transportation needs, and other operational challenges
• Ability to travel throughout Seattle and King County to participating agencies, donor locations, meetings, and other project sites as needed

Additional Details

Location: Seattle, WA

Schedule: Approximately 25–30 hours per week, with flexibility based on pilot needs

Assignment: Temporary Contract through December 2026

Pay Rate: $32–$35 per hour DOE

Travel: Local travel throughout Seattle and King County will be required as needed.
