Are you an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional who enjoys supporting safe, compliant workplace operations? We’re partnering with our client seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety programs, regulatory compliance, hazardous materials management, and workplace safety initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on EHS experience who is comfortable working across departments and identifying opportunities to reduce workplace risks.
What You’ll Be Doing…
- Assist with implementing and monitoring environmental, health, and safety programs to support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Conduct periodic workplace safety inspections, maintain safety equipment inventory, and recommend corrective action when hazards are identified
- Monitor hazardous waste removal vendors and assist with the handling and consolidation of chemical, radioactive, and/or medical waste as needed
- Conduct employee training related to emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and workplace safety procedures
- Monitor environmental and industrial health compliance while maintaining communication with appropriate regulatory agencies
- Support workers’ compensation administration and workplace ergonomics initiatives
- Partner with departments across the organization to address safety concerns and implement EHS program solutions
Here’s What Your Work History Needs to Show as Evidence That You’re the Right Candidate…
- 3 years of environmental health and safety, workplace safety, or related experience
- Experience supporting EHS programs and working within federal, state, and local safety and environmental requirements
- Knowledge of hazardous materials, hazardous waste procedures, safety inspections, and workplace risk identification
- Experience providing safety training and communicating procedures to employees across different departments
- Strong understanding of established EHS processes, procedures, and systems with the ability to work independently within defined guidelines
Additional Details
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
Pay Rate:
Environment: Role follows established procedures and guidelines while requiring sound judgment across a variety of workplace safety and environmental responsibilities
Start Date: ASAP
