We are looking for an innovative experienced Water Resources Engineering Manager to lead and grow our water resources group.  This position offers the opportunity to manage a talented team of engineers and scientists, drive strategic growth, and deliver impactful projects that restore ecosystems and improve habitat connectivity across the Pacific Northwest.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING


  • Provide leadership and direction for the fish passage and stream team, including staff development, workload management, and mentoring.  
  • Build and expand client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and contribute to the business development and strategic planning.
  • Lead the design and delivery of fish passage projects, including culvert replacements, stream simulation, and habitat connectivity improvements
  • Manage projects budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Serve as the technical leader in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support planning and design.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, design drawings, technical reports, and construction documents.
  • Conduct and supervise site assessments, field investigations, and data collection.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, planners, and environmental scientists.
  • Support permitting and regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to advance project goals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering, including hydrology and hydraulics with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • WSDOT Fish Passage and Stream Restoration Design certification or ability to obtain it within 1-year.
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, or related design software.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing construction documents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

 

PREFERRED:


  • Direct experience with fish passage design, stream restoration, or aquatic habitat projects.
  • Knowledge of Washington State permitting requirements (WSDOT, WDFW, Ecology, and local jurisdictions).
  • Familiarity with GIS applications.
  • Master’s degree in water resources or environmental engineering.
