We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor / Writer to join our fast-paced dealership team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs.
- Explain recommended repairs and maintenance options clearly, ensuring customers understand scope and benefits.
- Prepare detailed auto estimates using dealership management software, including labor, parts, and additional services.
- Upsell appropriate services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, transmission repairs, diesel engine diagnostics, shocks & struts replacement, air brake systems, auto body repairs, and more.
- Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately while processing payments for services rendered.
- Maintain thorough records of all customer interactions, service histories, and repair orders for future reference.
- Foster strong relationships with customers by providing transparent communication and exceptional service experience.
- Stay informed about the latest automotive diagnostics tools and repair techniques to better assist customers.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues in achieving dealership goals.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience as a Service Advisor or Writer is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems including transmissions, oil changes, auto body repair, alignment, suspension systems, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, brake repair, air brake systems, and other automotive repairs.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and automotive service management tools.
- Experience in auto sales or automobile sales is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Mechanical knowledge gained from mechanic or service technician roles enhances your ability to advise effectively.
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Basic cash handling skills combined with a professional attitude toward sales and customer interactions.
