We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the financial operations of our manufacturing facility in a city near southern Chicago, Illinois. This role will assist with general accounting functions, financial reporting, and cost analysis related to manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Salary: $65,000 ~ $80,000 / year (Negotiable)

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank, inventory, and balance sheet accounts
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead
- Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to improve financial accuracy and reporting
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)
- 2–5 years of accounting experience
- Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting
- Experience with inventory accounting or standard costing
- Knowledge of ERP systems used in manufacturing environments
