Illinois Orthopedic Network, PLLC is seeking for a skilled full-time Accountant to support our finance department's daily operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accounting and financial analysis activities for the department. As the Accountant you will support the finance function by preparing journal entries, analyzing accounts, researching transactions, and special projects.
This Accountant position comes with a starting wage based on education and years of experience. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately adjust account balances on a monthly basis and accurately prepare journal entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Prepare account reconciliations by compiling and analyzing account information while verifying the accuracy of general ledger for all accounts
- Prepare financial reports as needed for stakeholders to review
- Report to the department Controller and CFO to support the finance department operations
- Provide support and analysis related to operational budget and long-term financial projections.
- Provide support for the month end close.
- Assist with year-end closing procedures and tax preparation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with healthcare revenue cycle
- Understanding of medical billing and coding basics
- Understanding of advanced accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred)
