Role Description The Certified Pharmacy Technician - LTC Fulfillment/Automation Lead Tech is a full-time, on-site role based in South Jordan, UT. This position is responsible for overseeing automated dispensing and packaging systems, ensuring accurate and efficient medication fulfillment for long-term care patients. Daily tasks include processing prescriptions, preparing and labeling medications, coordinating automation workflows, and performing quality checks to maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role involves managing inventory related to automated systems, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with pharmacists and other technicians to streamline operations. The technician also supports communication with facilities and internal teams to address medication-related questions and ensure timely delivery of orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Primary role - lead automation/fulfillment technician
· Operate and maintain MTS-350 semi-automated system for cycle fill prepacks
· Operate and maintain Parata PASS strip-packaging system
· Proactively prepack top cycle medications ahead of need to reduce bottlenecks during peak fulfillment periods
· Train other technicians on automated systems as needed
· Coordinate with equipment vendors for maintenance/troubleshooting beyond routine
· Continuously identify and implement ways to increase fulfillment efficiency across all packaging/automation workflows
Qualifications
- Strong prescription processing and medication preparation skills, with attention to accuracy and safety.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and long-term care pharmacy practices, including experience working with pharmacists and pharmacy teams.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential and eligibility to work as a pharmacy technician in Utah; experience as a lead or senior technician is preferred.
- Inventory control skills, including monitoring stock levels, managing automated dispensing supplies, and supporting efficient ordering and storage.
- Customer service skills for interacting professionally with facilities, caregivers, and internal team members.
- Experience with pharmacy automation and packaging systems, with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-focused environment.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weight, and perform repetitive tasks as required in a fulfillment setting.
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
