We are seeking a Project Estimator who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in hardscape and landscape construction. This role requires a professional with a deep understanding of site development, materials, and labor costs, capable of producing accurate and competitive estimates for high-end residential and commercial projects. Position Overview


The Project Estimator is responsible for accurately evaluating hardscape and landscape project costs through quantity takeoffs, vendor pricing, subcontractor coordination, and scope review. This role plays a critical part in developing competitive and profitable bids and assisting project management teams with cost tracking and budget control.


Key Responsibilities


  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and addenda for hardscape and landscape projects.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for all site elements, including grading, irrigation, planting, pavers, retaining walls, concrete, lighting, and outdoor features.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure coverage and competitive pricing.
  • Develop complete cost estimates including labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead components.
  • Prepare bid packages, cost proposals, and value-engineering alternatives.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess conditions and incorporate findings into estimates.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including designers, project managers, and field staff to validate constructability and cost assumptions.
  • Assist in project hand-off to field operations with budgets, scope notes, and schedules.
  • Maintain historical cost data and participate in continuous improvement of the estimating process.


Qualifications & Skills


  • 2 years of estimating experience in hardscape, landscape, or site development projects (commercial or high-end residential).
  • Strong understanding of landscape construction practices and materials.
  • Experience with STACK or other takeoff/estimating software
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting landscape architecture and civil construction plans.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
