Duties
- Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute framing and finishing tasks
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install interior and exterior trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other woodwork components
- Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring tapes to perform detailed carpentry work
- Operate power tools including saws, drills, sanders, an safely and efficiently for woodworking project
- Fabricate custom wood pieces using woodworking machines and perform metal stud framing when required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards such as power tool safety protocols and proper handling of construction materials
Skills
- Extensive experience in residential carpentry, trim carpentry, framing (including metal stud framing), and restoration projects
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for woodworking as well as heavy lifting techniques for large materials
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and material specifications for wood construction materials
- Familiarity with installation of fixtures such as cabinets, doors (door hanging), mold remediation components, rebar installation, and fixture installation
- Ability to interpret technical schematics related to electrical experience, plumbing, masonry, remodeling, flooring installation, tile laying, siding work, and roofing systems
- Understanding of construction site safety practices including power tool safety and proper handling of heavy or hazardous materials
