What You’ll Do:
We’re searching for a talented Metal Fabricator who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into a fast-paced, varied role at our Neenah shop. This isn’t your typical “stand-and-weld” gig—you’ll be on the move, tackling diverse tasks and representing our company with pride, whether in our shop or out on a job site.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Interpret blueprints and plans to craft metal components with precision.
- Cut, shape, and bend metal using tools like saws, presses, grinders, and plasma cutters.
- Weld parts using MIG, TIG, or stick welding with a steady, skilled hand.
- Inspect your work to ensure it meets our high standards while keeping up with tight deadlines.
- Keep your tools and workspace ready for action, whether in our climate-controlled shop or on-site.
- Work on job sites when needed, showcasing professionalism, clean language, and a polished appearance to represent P&D Metal Works to clients.
What We’re Looking For:
We need a self-starter who thrives without constant supervision and brings a can-do attitude to every challenge. This role demands multitasking, quick thinking, and the ability to plan and execute like a pro. Specifically, you’ll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent (welding or fabrication certifications are a bonus).
- 2 years of experience in metal fabrication or welding is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person who fits our company culture.
- Proficiency with shop tools like grinders, presses, and plasma cutters.
- Strong blueprint-reading skills and a knack for following specs.
- Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to top-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to problem-solve on the fly and handle multiple tasks with ease.
- Comfort working outdoors in hot or cold conditions and on job sites as needed.
· Ability to work confidently and safely at heights, adhering to all safety protocols, with no aversion to elevated tasks
· Work safely at heights on ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lifts when required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
· Strong enough to confidently lift over 50 lbs. keeping safety first in a hands-on environment
- Willingness to learn and grow into a long tenured and reliable team member
- Professional demeanor, clean clothes, and respectful language when interacting with clients.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to our Neenah shop (preferred)
