Founding AI Engineer

Location: Albuquerque, NM (On-site, 5 days per week)

Compensation: $150,000 - $210,000 3–5% equity-

About the Role

We’re seeking a Founding AI Engineer with 3–5 years of experience who’s passionate about transforming healthcare through innovative AI applications. This is an opportunity to join at the ground level, helping to redefine clinical workflows and patient care experiences through cutting-edge technology. You’ll collaborate with clinicians and designers to reimagine healthcare delivery, deploying real-world AI solutions that drive measurable impact.

What You’ll Do

• Partner closely with clinicians and designers to re-engineer clinical workflows using state-of-the-art AI capabilities.
• Analyze medical content, guidelines, and research to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for AI-driven transformation.
• Lead workflow mapping sessions, developing clear and actionable process maps, decision trees, and content models.
• Integrate and deploy LLMs and other AI tools to automate clinical logic and enhance patient and clinician interactions.
• Monitor and optimize AI system performance, latency, and cost-efficiency across backend infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other data privacy and security regulations.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 3 years in AI engineering with proven experience shipping production AI applications.
• Startup Experience: Previous work in a venture-backed startup environment.
• Technical Expertise:
• Integrating and deploying LLM APIs.
• Working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization.
• Familiarity with multi-agent workflow or orchestration systems.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
