What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Hardware Architect position at Oxmiq Labs?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Partner with neocloud customers to understand requirements and architect tailored data center solutions
- Collaborate with our internal team of HW/SW architects to deliver integrated, end-to-end designs
- Lead technical discussions on server configurations, rack layouts, power distribution, and cooling strategies
- Design and specify cooling infrastructure including CDUs, liquid cooling systems, and airflow optimization
- Advise customers on facility-level decisions: building design, power delivery, and MEP coordination
- Develop reference architectures and design standards that scale across global deployments
- Support customers from initial design through deployment and commissioning
- Stay current on industry trends and bring innovative approaches to customer engagements
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of experience in data center hardware architecture, infrastructure design, or related engineering disciplines
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying data center infrastructure at a Tier 1 or Tier 2 cloud service provider (hyperscale experience required)
- Deep expertise across:
- Power planning and distribution (utility to rack)
- Cooling systems (air-cooled, direct liquid cooling, CDUs, rear-door heat exchangers)
- Server and rack mechanical/electrical design
- Network infrastructure and cabling architecture
- Experience with facility planning: building design, raised floor vs. slab, MEP systems
- Strong understanding of PUE optimization and energy efficiency best practices
- Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Willingness to travel globally to support customer engagements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure and high-density GPU deployments
- Familiarity with modular or prefabricated data center designs
- Previous consulting, solutions architecture, or customer-facing technical roles
