Systems Engineer – MSP / IT Consulting (Contract to Hire, Remote EST)
Job Overview
Oxford Solutions is partnering with an IT consulting organization to hire a Systems Engineer on a contract-to-hire basis. This role supports multiple customer environments in a managed services setting and focuses on advanced troubleshooting, infrastructure support, and long-term IT solutions. The position is remote within the U.S. and requires availability during Eastern Time business hours.
What You’ll Do
• Provide Level 3 technical support for customer environments in an MSP setting
• Manage and support Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructures
• Monitor and maintain customer systems, networks, and devices
• Triage and resolve support tickets while meeting SLA and KPI expectations
• Support cloud and virtualization platforms
• Assist with customer onboarding and offboarding activities
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures
• Support junior engineers and participate in on-call rotation
What We’re Looking For
• 3–5 years of hands-on Systems Engineering experience in a Windows AD environment
• MSP or customer-facing IT consulting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi; Hyper-V or Nutanix is a plus
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
• Familiarity with Azure Entra, MFA, and conditional access
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to support EST hours and occasional off-hours maintenance
