Overview: As the Programme Lead, you will manage one of our premium summer programmes, attended by teenage students from around the world. You will spearhead success through managing student safety and welfare, protecting and enhancing relationships and company reputation with key stakeholders, and being responsible for the overall student experience. The Programme Lead is instrumental in creating a transformative and enriching experience for all students. The role would suit a highly experienced and capable leader in education who is excited by the opportunity to work with international students and a team of passionate staff, and to tackle the challenges that come hand in hand with running short programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the senior on-site representative of Oxford Royale, embodying and promoting the organisation’s values, work ethic, and commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and global leadership.
Confidently engage with parents and guardians when required, representing the spirit of learning, development, and student care that defines Oxford Royale programmes.
Work in collaboration with host venue conference teams and university partners at Yale and Columbia/Barnard, responding professionally to requests, challenges, and operational needs.
Ensure the highest standards of professionalism are upheld by both staff and students in all interactions with third parties, including faculty, guest speakers, external providers, and members of the public.
Student Experience
Maintain complete familiarity with the weekly timetable, academic vision, and marketing messaging to ensure that client expectations are consistently met and exceeded.
Lead, mentor, and support the academic and residential staff teams, acting as a role model for both students and colleagues.
Support teacher(s) in the delivery of the academic curriculum, providing guidance on teaching quality, lecture planning, and other program elements as needed.
Oversee the execution of activities, events, excursions, and cultural programming across campuses and cities to ensure a rich, inspiring, and cohesive student experience beyond the classroom.
Ensure the highest quality of service, academic delivery, and pastoral care in line with the premium expectations of the Ivy League Scholars and Oxford Royale programmes.
Collaboration and Leadership
Collaborate closely with Oxford Royale Head Office on a daily basis, providing clear updates, managing real-time operational needs, and proactively planning ahead.
Manage all on-campus staff members across multiple locations, fostering a collaborative, motivated, and high-performance team culture.
Ensure all academic, residential, and operational staff perform according to their job descriptions and to Oxford Royale’s required standards.
Provide calm, professional leadership in resolving internal staff challenges efficiently, minimising disruption to student experience and partner relationships.
Serve as a visible leader and role model, supporting students, staff, and the wider programme community across all aspects of delivery.
Demonstrate confidence navigating — or quickly familiarising oneself with — complex university and city environments, including Yale University and New York City.
Administration, Systems and Compliance
Own and manage the programme budget responsibly.
Conduct appraisals and performance reviews for direct reports.
Liaise with Head Office on staffing matters, resourcing, and escalation points.
Ensure all team members use operational, safeguarding, and student management systems accurately and consistently.
Support the collection of student end-of-course feedback and help maximise response rates.
Ensure student reports, awards, certificates, and academic documentation are completed to a high standard and on time.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
Extensive senior educational programme management experience working with the age group hosted at the chosen campus (13-15, 16-18).
Extensive education administration experience as an Academic Dean or in a comparable academic setting.
A completed teacher training course or suitable equivalent.
A university degree.
Desirable Experience
A graduate degree, preferably in education.
Familiarity with the host university.
Knowledge of the international education industry and how residential courses operate.
Experience supporting teacher development.
Understanding of the compliance needs and requirements in the State of the host University.
Additional Notes:
This role involves travel and on-site operational leadership across multiple locations: one week based at Yale University, a day excursion to Massachusetts, and one week based in New York City.
Candidates should be comfortable navigating — or quickly familiarising themselves with — complex university campuses and major city environments.
Prior Experience Working With Oxford Royale Is Strongly Preferred.
