TITLE: Gaming Club Adviser
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal, the Gaming Club Adviser is responsible for overseeing students in the Gaming Club.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gaming Club is open to approximately 30 students each week from approximately October through April.
Oversee students who are interested in playing a variety of board games, family or group style games, and card games (examples of such games include, but not limited to, the following: Chess, Checkers, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Jenga, Headbanz, Yahtzee, Monopoly, etc.).
Focus on providing opportunities for students to try new games, introduce games from their family/culture, engage in multiplayer friendly competition, while also enhancing social- emotional skills and engaging them in school culture and forming friendships and camaraderie with peers.
This is not an online gaming platform or role playing gaming platform.
Announce meeting dates, times, and information, manage enrollment, communicate with participants, and organize weekly activities, monitoring students while in their care.
Attends all Gaming Club meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current member of the Oxford Education Association.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; position oneself to demonstrate technique; move up to 25 lbs. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is generally performed primarily indoors and predominantly in a school classroom.
