TITLE: History Club Adviser
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal, the History Club Adviser is responsible for overseeing students in the History Club.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
History Club runs once per week November through April for students interested in learning more about history.
Assist students with exploring local history of Oxford, Massachusetts, and other history or current events topics making history that are of interest to the students. The topics are primarily driven by student choice.
Become involved in History Day competitions and assist students looking to delve deeper into historical events.
Announce meeting dates, times, and information, manage enrollment, communicate with participants, and organize weekly activities, monitoring students while in their care.
Attend all History Club meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current member of the Oxford Education Association.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; position oneself to demonstrate technique; move up to 25 lbs. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is generally performed primarily indoors and predominantly in a school classroom.
