What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Builder position at Oxford Global Resources?
The Mechanical Builder Level III shall lead a team of Mechanical Builders in machine assembly /build, debug, and teardown activities to prepare the machine for shipping. The individual shall be prroficient in understanding budgets and schedules and will work with the manager to create the schedule and drive the project to be on time and on budget.
Responsibilities
Organizational Skills
· Organize and plan out daily activities for the team members that have been assigned to them.
· Provide estimated assembly and build time for each given project (budget and schedule)
· Attend project meetings to provide updates to the project team and dept. managers on the status of the build (budget and schedule)
· Follow Work Instructions and maintain checklists, ie Commissioning Binders.
· Work with the technical writer to provide machine information for the op manual.
· Overview the commissioning process of the machine. Check and sign-off on the appropriate documentation.
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment and follow safe working practices
Safety
· Possess a well-rounded knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations which can be used to produce a safe and ergonomically friendly work environment
· Use knowledge of OSHA requirements for machine safety devices and guards
· Understand LOTO procedures
· Help teach and coach other build levels and apprentices about these safety standards
Leadership
· Answer questions and provide directions to mechanical builders and apprentices
· Help teach and mentor other mechanical builders so they can be successful at their position
· Maintain departmental goals (Budget and Schedule)
· Recommend improvements to the facility or equipment to increase efficiency
· Recommend improvements in order to facilitate company growth.
· Organize all required tools to allow for efficient teamwork and project flow.
Build Details
· Understand how to use the ERP system, look up parts and search the Bill of Materials database.
· Understand/lookup and interpret the manufacturer guidelines to install the parts/equipment properly
· Use the redline process to record changes on engineering documentation.
· Machine Details
o Be able to perform all items listed under Level I & II in the training matrix.
o To work with little to no supervision from the Department Manager
o Assembly of mechanical components
o Machine/Chassis layout, placement and leveling
o Assembly of drive components
o Adjust cam timing, rotary positions (i.e. indexing units) as necessary
o Perform machine parts and assembly modifications as required
o Organize and coordinate tear down activities to prepare a machine for shipping

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
