IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst
Location: Hybrid 1x week Newport News,VA
Duration: 6 months contract to hire
Overview
We are seeking a mid-level IT Asset Management (ITAM) professional to help establish and mature our IT Asset Management practice within the corporate office environment. This individual will play a key role in developing policies, procedures, and governance processes while helping build a scalable ITAM framework.
Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing and improving IT Asset Management policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of ITAM processes and best practices.
- Track and manage hardware, software, and technology assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Partner with IT, Procurement, Finance, and other business teams to ensure compliance and asset visibility.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen asset governance and controls.
- Maintain accurate asset inventories and documentation.
- Support audits, reporting, and compliance initiatives related to IT assets.
Qualifications
- 3 7 years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, IT Governance, or a related field.
- Experience helping establish or improve ITAM programs, policies, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, inventory controls, and governance practices.
- Ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) contractors, subcontractors, or government organizations, including adherence to compliance and asset governance requirements.
Preferred
- Experience with ITAM tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with software licensing, compliance, and asset auditing processes.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and IT service management frameworks.
