Incept Data Solutions is seeking an experienced IT Asset Discovery Analyst to support a major technology asset assessment initiative for the City of Suffolk.
This is a high-visibility project working directly with IT leadership to uncover software assets, licensing agreements, technology spend, and shadow IT across all city departments.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Conduct software asset discovery and inventory assessments
✔ Identify undocumented applications and shadow IT
✔ Analyze software licensing, renewals, compliance, and costs
✔ Build a centralized Software Asset Management (SAM) register
✔ Collaborate with department leaders and IT stakeholders
✔ Provide recommendations for license optimization and cost savings
Required Experience:
✅ IT Asset Management (ITAM) / Software Asset Management (SAM)
✅ Software licensing and compliance audits
✅ SaaS subscription management
✅ IT governance and asset tracking
✅ Strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
Preferred:
🔹 Government or public-sector experience
🔹 ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice, or KACE
🔹 Cisco Umbrella, Zscaler, or Palo Alto App-ID
🔹 Knowledge of ISO 19770 and SAM best practices
