Job Title: Part-Time Cost Control Accountant – Restaurant Operations

Job Summary: Oxford Athletic Club is the most extensive private health and fitness club in the Pittsburgh area and is nationally recognized by the Health and Fitness Association (HFA) for excellence. Our in-house Café offers a range of food and dinning options to our extensive membership. Ranging from prepared grab and go to catered events.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Control Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background and a passion for optimizing restaurant operations. You will play a key role in monitoring and analyzing costs, identifying inefficiencies, and helping improve profitability across our food and beverage outlets.
The ideal candidate will show strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with POS systems and inventory controls is necessary. Silverware POS and Yellow Dog Inventory experience a plus. This candidate must have the ability to work within multiple software platforms and manage the flow of accurate information between the Back-of-House, Front-of-House and Accounting teams. The accountant will report directly to the controller and will need to demonstrate the ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a fast-paced office environment.

Status: Flexible Part-time, 15-25 hours per week
Essential Job Duties:
· Monitor and analyze food and beverage costs.
· Review vendor invoices, sales, and inventory reports for accuracy and cost trends.
· Assist in budgeting and forecasting for restaurant operations.
· Conduct regular audits of inventory and usage to identify waste or theft.
· Collaborate with kitchen and management teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
· Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports with actionable insights.
· Maintain accurate records of cost allocations and adjustments.
· Support month-end closing processes related to restaurant operations.
· Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management tools.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and kitchen workflows.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations affecting food costs.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
· Strong understanding of food and beverage cost control principles.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Required Education and Experience:
· Experience with general Ledger functions in the month and year end close process
