Wrestling Assistant Coach- Middle School

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as a Wrestling Assistant Coach for our Middle School program in Penn's Grove. This seasonal position is aimed at fostering the development of young athletes in the sport of wrestling, promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to ensure a positive and productive experience for all student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions and training programs.
• Provide instruction on wrestling techniques, strategies, and rules to enhance athletes' skills and understanding of the sport.
• Support the development of individual athletes through personalized feedback and encouragement.
• Help organize and supervise team events, including competitions, tournaments, and community outreach activities.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants during practices and matches.
• Monitor the academic performance and attendance of student-athletes, promoting a balance between athletics and education.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
• Assist in the recruitment of new athletes and promote the wrestling program within the school and community.
• Attend coaching meetings and professional development opportunities as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in wrestling, either as an athlete or coach, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while fostering a positive team culture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be organized, responsible, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
• Availability to attend practices and competitions during the wrestling season, including evenings and weekends.
