What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Platform Engineer position at Oxenham Group?
What You Will Do
- Design and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, CDKTF, and/or AWS CDK, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across multi-environment deployments.
- Write production-quality platform tooling and services in C#, Node.js, and/or TypeScript. This is a hands-on coding role, not just infrastructure configuration.
- Architect and operate container orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes and ECS/EKS, for microservice and distributed systems workloads that support autonomous vehicle data pipelines.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and/or Azure DevOps, including automated testing and deployment gates.
- Implement observability and monitoring using DataDog, Splunk, CloudWatch, or similar tools to ensure rapid detection and resolution of issues across distributed systems. • Design and integrate data ingestion and messaging infrastructure, including Kafka, Kinesis, and pub/sub patterns, for high-volume IoT and telemetry workloads.
- Improve the developer experience by streamlining local development workflows, environment provisioning, and deployment feedback loops. • Mentor engineers on cloud-native architecture, DevOps practices, and infrastructure best practices.
What We Are Looking For
- 6 to 8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps, combined with strong software development skills.
- Proficiency in C#, Node.js, and/or TypeScript with the ability to write real production code, not just glue scripts.
- Deep AWS experience preferred. Azure or GCP backgrounds are acceptable, but AWS is the primary platform.
- Strong Terraform or broader infrastructure-as-code expertise, with the ability to design and maintain complex, multi-environment infrastructure codebases.
- Strong Linux background across environments such as Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, RHEL, and Alpine.
- Hands-on container experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS/EKS, including building, deploying, and troubleshooting containerized workloads in production.
Nice to Have
- Experience with IoT platforms, edge computing, or autonomous systems.
- Background in real-time data pipelines and stream processing, including Kafka, KSQL, and Kinesis.
- Experience building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-service toolchains.
- Familiarity with distributed systems patterns such as event-driven architectures, pub/sub messaging, and active/active multi-region deployments.
- Exposure to relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer
