JOB SUMMARY
The medical assistant role plays a key part in supporting the infusion team. you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, ensure that patients are comfortable and that their needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner. This role involves supporting medical staff, monitoring patient health, and assisting with a variety of treatments and therapies in a specialized healthcare setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vital signs and monitoring:
- measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate) and body weight.
- perform inbody weight measurements to analyze body composition, including muscle mass and fat percentage.
- conduct resting metabolic rate (rmr) breath testing to assess the patient’s metabolism, as directed by the medical team.
- assist nurses with monitoring intravenous infusions to ensure proper administration.
Treatment assistance:
- administer and apply topical treatments as per nurse directive.
- assist with placing virtual reality (vr) goggles on patients as part of therapeutic or relaxation treatments.
- apply normatec compression sleeves as directed to support circulation and reduce swelling.
- perform ultrasound treatments** under nurse supervision.
- administer topical cold laser treatments as indicated by the medical team.
Thermal therapy support:
- sit with patients during sauna hyperthermia treatments, providing comfort and monitoring their condition throughout the session.
- apply regional radio frequency topical hyperthermia treatments according to nursing instructions.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy assistance:
- accompany patients during hyperbaric oxygen treatments, monitor patient comfort, and assist as needed during the session.
Patient comfort and support:
- provide emotional and physical support to patients throughout their treatments.
- assist with mobility, transferring, and positioning as needed.
- ensure patient rooms are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
Administrative tasks and operations support:
- greets all patients with owm greeting and follows procedure for welcoming patients to office
- review and update patient demographic information if changes have occurred.
- may be required to perform medical records support tasks. all medical records support tasks will be assigned by management and must strictly adhere to predefined policies and guidelines.
- completes related reports and projects as directed.
- perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities:
- none.
Hours:
- our clinic operates m-f 7:30-6:30 and Saturdays 7:30-1:30. you may be scheduled within any of these times.
- this is a full-time position with the requirement to work up to 3 Saturdays per month.
Work environment:
- works in an office environment with occasional exposure to patient care areas.
- may be required to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.

Preferred education & experience:
- high school diploma or ged is required
- 2 year college degree is preferred
- 2-3 years of experience working within a health care setting in which the primary responsibility was the completion of clerical, general office, patient accounting and reception oriented tasks.
