Job Summary

At Owensboro Racing & Gaming, we know work should be exciting, rewarding, and a little bit fun! As a Gaming Device Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping the action alive on our gaming floor. From maintaining and troubleshooting machines to helping guests enjoy their experience, you’ll be part of the team that makes the magic happen. This position reports directly to the Gaming Performance Manager.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Keep the fun going by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing gaming devices.
• Ensure machines are ready for action through regular preventative maintenance.
• Install and move equipment as needed to keep our gaming floor running smoothly.
• Help guests understand gameplay and make their experience enjoyable.
• Provide quick, friendly assistance when machines need attention.
• Maintain accurate repair logs, inventory, and equipment records.
• Support teammates with a positive, can-do attitude in a high-energy environment.
• Build lasting connections with guests through genuine, friendly interactions.
• Ensure the gaming floor is clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.
• Work a flexible schedule—including nights, weekends, and holidays—where the excitement never stops.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
  
  

Required Skills And Abilities

• Strong technical and mechanical skills with a knack for problem-solving.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and people skills—comfortable working with guests and teammates.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on creating great guest experiences.
  
  

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with gaming devices or in a related technical role preferred.
• Prior work experience in a guest-facing role is a plus.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license through the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC).
• Must provide and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  
  

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• equent standing, walking, hearing, speaking, and use of hands.
• Occasional bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
• Work primarily indoors with lively, energetic environments—including lights, sounds, and cigarette smoke—with occasional outdoor exposure.
• Office work may involve moderately quiet conditions.
