Primary Purpose:
Provide supplemental instructional support to Teachers of Emergent Bilingual students participating in the Alief ISD Dual Language model.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
- Valid educator certification and highly qualified status for the position advertised
- Valid Bilingual certification
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Spanish & English proficiency (oral and literacy skills); Bilingual & Biliterate required
- Multiple grade level experience preferred
- T-TESS: Proficient
- Knowledge & understanding of Language Development and Best Practices for instructing EBs
- Instructional leadership skills and experience
- Knowledge & understanding of the district’s Dual Language Program
- Knowledge & understanding of the district’s ESL program
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, DMAC, Excel, & presentation platforms
- Knowledge and ability to use a Learning Management System
Experience
- Minimum three (3) years classroom teaching experience as a Late Exit or Transitional Bilingual/ Dual Language teacher of EBs
- Multiple grade level experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Provides supplemental professional development for staff in order to improve the instruction of EB students in Dual Language Program.
- Assists with the selection and planning of appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects understanding of the learning styles and needs of EBs, Immigrant children, and Bilingual students in Dual Language.
- Co-teaches lessons with the classroom teacher as determined by campus administrator.
- Works with small groups to provide supplementary Dual Language instruction.
- Assists Campus Administrator and ESL Specialist in grouping students for Intervention and progress monitoring purposes.
- Partners with Bilingual/ESL Classroom Teachers for planning, modeling, and implementing SLD/ELD instruction, Sheltered Instruction and Dual Language Framework & Pillars.
- Supports district goals including coaching, observations, teacher debriefs and teacher training/refreshers.
- Works cooperatively with other teachers and campus leaders to meet the needs of individual EB students.
- Provides campus training as directed by principal and district.
- Attends District MLP/ESL ILT meetings.
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.

2025-2026 Salary Range Min. $66,500, (Based on previous experience)
Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
Federal Funded positions:
The hourly rates listed above are subject to change depending on the funding allocated for the specific job you may be hired for. The funding for this position is federally funded for the current school year. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the availability of future funds.
