The Binder Operator position is responsible for mixing and transferring binder, cleaning binder areas, and maintaining binder supplies.

The Binder Operator position is responsible for mixing and transferring binder, cleaning binder areas, and maintaining binder supplies.
Job Responsibilities
- Follows all Owens Corning safety policies and procedures.
- Unloads from truck, rail or stores and transfers and premixes binder ingredients.
- Manually or automatically mixes routine and / or trial binder according to process specifications.
- Regularly checks or varies the following: storage tank levels, temperatures, pump pressures, and absence of leaks.
- Maintains inventories of the binder. Completes records and log sheets. Maintains inventory records of the binder raw material.
- Checks, cleans, and changes filters on tanks.
- Obtains samples, performs proper testing, and records lab test results.
- Notifies the appropriate maintenance personnel or proper member of management of any problems (malfunctioning equipment, raw materials needs, and quality of binder or raw materials) and assists them in correcting problem.
- Clean unloading area.
- Cleans and / or assists in cleaning binder room area and equipment (ex. Sumps, trenches, floors, vessels).
- Ensures clean and orderly housekeeping in all assigned areas at all times.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
- Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
- Must work well in team environment and independently
- Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations
- Must possess PC operational skills
- Must be able to secure and maintain fork lift Powered Industrial Vehicle License
- Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Operate laboratory testing equipment and scales
- The ability to work varying shifts, if required
- Wearing respirator protection - frequently
- Exposure to hot/cold temperature- continuously
- Exposure to noise- continuously
- Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders- frequently
- Standing- frequently
- Walking – continuously
- Hand/Eye Coordination– continuously
- Handling (holding, grasping)- continuously
