What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permit Coordinator position at Owen Thomas Group?
The ideal candidate will have experience working for a prior Construction Company / General Contractor in a similar capacity.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Manages the end-to-end permitting process for residential and commercial construction projects, ensuring applications are accurate, timely submitted, and actively tracked through approval.
- This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Manages full permit lifecycle from application through final approval across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepares and submits complete, code-compliant permit packages.
- Coordinates documentation from architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Proactively tracks permit status and follows up with building departments and plan reviewers.
- Communicates permit timelines, risks, and status updates to PMs, Superintendents, and leadership.
About You:
- 2-3 Years of relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail and numbers accuracy.
- Highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
- Strong communication skills; must be comfortable supporting busy PMs and working cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Office.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
