We’re looking for a Mid‐Level Electrical Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career—someone who can contribute immediately, work independently when needed, and collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and clients.
Position Overview
As a Mid‐Level Electrical Engineer, you will support and lead electrical system design for a variety of building projects. You’ll be responsible for producing construction documents, performing load calculations, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring designs meet code, performance, and client requirements.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid foundation in building electrical systems who wants to grow into a senior‐level technical or project leadership path.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency systems, and low‐voltage infrastructure
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Perform electrical load calculations, short‐circuit analysis, and equipment sizing
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams to ensure integrated design solutions
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration activities
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to project planning and design discussions
- Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local codes, and industry standards
- Maintain project schedules and support project managers with deliverable timelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical building systems design (MEP consulting experience preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of NEC, IBC, and applicable local codes
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- EIT certification preferred; PE license or path to PE is a plus
