Position Overview
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Installer Technician to join our field services team. This role involves the hands-on installation, testing, and servicing of security system equipment at customer locations. You'll work closely with project managers, clients, and fellow technicians to ensure every system is installed to the highest standards of safety, function, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and test security systems, including cameras, alarm panels, fire detection units, access control, and related hardware
- Ensure clean, professional, and code-compliant cable runs and terminations
- Troubleshoot issues with new and existing systems
- Provide clear documentation of installed systems and customer training when required
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer interactions
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and service commitments
- Follow all safety and compliance standards set by OverWatch Security and governing regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred (e.g., NICET, ESA, or manufacturer-specific)
- Minimum 2 years of experience installing and servicing low-voltage security systems,
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally work outside of standard hours
Preferred Experience
- Experience with DSC security systems
- Knowledge of the Honeywell family of products, including Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Vista, and System Sensor
- Qolsys system installation and programming
- Access control systems (hardware, software, and credentialing)
- IP and analog security camera installation, setup, and programming
- Network cabling and infrastructure experience
