A Day In This Role
You arrive ready to keep production moving. You review the run schedule, prep tooling, and coordinate with the press crew. On the floor, you install dies on both full-revolution and part-revolution stamping presses, align everything precisely, and validate first-piece quality with gauges and micrometers. You load and unload coils, verify material specs, and keep a close eye on inventory so each order runs without interruption. Between changeovers, you pitch in across the department—operating equipment, performing routine upkeep, and cross-training to expand your skills. Every setup you complete keeps quality tight and throughput strong.
Core Responsibilities
- Install and set up dies on operating stamping presses, including full-revolution and part-revolution machines.
- Load and remove coils safely for the press and related support equipment.
- Use gauges, micrometers, and related metrology tools to confirm part quality.
- Calculate inventory needs to meet production order requirements.
- Work confidently with hand tools and read blueprints with accuracy.
- Operate and help maintain equipment both inside and outside the press department.
- Cross-train and build additional capabilities to support the team and production flow.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 1-5 years of Manufacturing, Machine Operator, or Stamping Press Experience.
