What You’ll Take On
- Machine operation: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC (lathes, mills, grinders) and manual machines to hit exact specifications.
- Blueprint interpretation: Read and apply technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models accurately.
- Tooling and setup: Select tools, fixtures, and materials; perform precise setups and make adjustments as needed.
- Quality control: Inspect parts with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMM) to verify tolerances and conformance.
- Maintenance: Complete routine machine care and promptly report mechanical concerns.
- Process optimization: Collaborate to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency without sacrificing quality.
- Safety compliance: Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
- Documentation: Record quantities, material usage, and any deviation from specs.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or an associate degree in machining/manufacturing preferred.
- Experience: 2–3 years in a machining role within manufacturing; CNC programming exposure is a plus.
- Skills:
- Hands-on proficiency with CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Strong print-reading and interpretation of technical drawings.
- Comfort with precision metrology and established quality processes.
- Basic understanding of G-code and CNC programming is preferred.
- Problem-solving mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
- Physical requirements: Stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle repetitive motions.
- Certifications: Forklift certification or related credentials are a plus.
