Overtime Athletics Chicagoland – Tennis Instructor
Location: Wing Park, Elgin, IL
Schedule: Tuesday & Friday evenings Sunday mornings
Start Date: Week of April 12
Compensation: $21–$24/hr. (based on experience & qualifications)
Overtime Athletics Chicagoland is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable Tennis Instructor to lead beginner and advanced‐beginner lessons and run structured drill sessions for both kids and adults. This role is ideal for an accomplished tennis player who enjoys teaching fundamentals, connecting with learners of all ages, and creating a fun, supportive environment on the court.
What You’ll Do
- Teach kids (2nd–8th grade) and adult beginners the core fundamentals of tennis
- Cover essential skills: proper grip, forehand/backhand mechanics, serving, volleys, and basic strategies
- Run drill‐based sessions for players who already know the basics and want structured reps to improve consistency and match performance
- Arrive 15 minutes early to prepare
- Create weekly lesson plans and keep sessions organized and on schedule
- Maintain a positive, encouraging atmosphere for all participants
Who We’re Looking For
- An accomplished tennis player with strong fundamentals
- Someone confident teaching beginners and advanced beginners
- Experience working with kids and/or adults in a coaching or instructional setting
- Ability to relate well to a wide range of ages and skill levels
- Organized, dependable, and enthusiastic about helping players improve
- While previous tennis‐instruction experience is preferred, accomplished High School varsity tennis players who are available at the needed times are encouraged to apply
- Note: This role does not require a certified tennis pro, and you will not be expected to coach advanced or highly skilled players
