What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Overland Sheepskin?
LOCATION: FAIRFIELD, IA
The Overland Quality Control Inspector will work closely with current QC Site Lead Inspector and Quality Control Lead to ensure the development, implementation and compliance of the product inspection processes and quality reporting system.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform audits of production goods against approved company standards and relevant regulatory standards. Pull and inspect from deliveries received in our warehouse and ensure products are inspected for measurement, quality, color, etc.
- Collect, investigate, & communicate with QC Site Lead Inspector regarding product quality issues/concerns found during inspections
- Facilitate resolution of issues per QC Site Lead Inspector. (Counts, Vendor Returns, retagging, etc.)
- Manage records of all Quality audits/inspections
- Partner with QC Site Lead to work on special projects as assigned
Job Based Competencies/Qualifications:
- Preferred working knowledge of garment and textile manufacturing processes. Experience in sewing construction- a plus!
- Preferred at least 1-2 years of experience in Quality Control
- Have a strong eye for detail
- Ability to interact and participate in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-driven environment
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic mathematics
- Passionate about delivering great product and value to our customers
Job Based Competencies/Qualifications:
- Typical climate-controlled warehouse environment (with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels).
- Concentrated mental and visual attention with a high degree of manual dexterity and visual attention for sustained periods
- Repetitive hand motions
- Requires continuous physical activity and the ability to lift and move
- Requires walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, reaching above your head, and continuous standing for long periods
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
This position is full-time with benefits with an average of 25 hours per week in the off season (March – June) & 40 hours in season (July – February). Hours are subject to change.
