Company Description

Overland Group is a vertically integrated real estate company dedicated to creating and building exceptional projects that elevate communities, enrich lives, and deliver lasting value. With offices in Lehi, Utah and Phoenix, Arizona, we develop and construct projects across multiple asset classes, including multifamily, hospitality, retail, and self-storage.

Our construction team operates as Overland Construction, our in-house general contractor. Overland Construction delivers projects for both Overland Development and third-party owners, bringing an ownership mindset and a high standard of execution to every project.

We believe in doing the right thing, leading with integrity, transparency, and respect. Our teams bring grit and a winning mindset to every challenge, staying committed to results with preparation, positivity, and high standards. We are proactive problem-solvers, anticipating challenges and taking initiative early, and we are accountable to our commitments—doing what we say we’re going to do.

Collaboration is central to how we work. We build rock-star teams through trust and open communication, and we embrace continuous improvement, always looking for smarter, better ways to deliver value.

Position Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new third-party construction opportunities by building and maintaining strong relationships with developers, owners, brokers, and industry partners. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role is focused on generating and managing a consistent pipeline of work—from initial outreach through project pursuit and contract execution. This individual will actively track market activity, identify target opportunities, and position Overland to win new projects. The role is highly relationship-driven and requires a proactive, self-directed approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. Success in this role is defined by the ability to consistently generate new work, strengthen long-term partnerships, and contribute to the overall growth of the company’s third-party construction business.

This role will focus on generating business within the state of Utah. The primary target clients are entrepreneurial and mid-sized developers delivering projects typically ranging from $5M–$25M across multifamily, hospitality, self-storage, and retail. Overland prioritizes working with relationship-driven, collaborative partners who value early engagement and long-term value creation over low-bid procurement. This position requires a strong understanding of the local market and the ability to build meaningful relationships within this specific segment of the industry.
