Outten & Golden LLP is seeking a Counsel admitted to practice in California to be based in our Oakland office.

Responsibilities: Counsel at the Firm represent clients in individual, class, and collective actions in all areas of employment law—including matters that may involve wage-and-hour issues, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, leaves of absence, or layoffs—and supervise/lead matters in a variety of contexts including federal and state courts, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC), as well as negotiations and client counseling.
Qualifications: Successful candidates will have a combination of employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the qualities and skills below:
- Experience and Education: You have a minimum of 8 years of legal experience including a minimum of 4 years of practicing employment-law experience. You have strong analytical, writing, research, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Must be admitted to the California bar.
- Confidentiality: You must be able to adhere to Firm policies regarding the protection of confidential data and demonstrate sensitivity to (and good judgment in connection with) confidential Firm matters.
- Leadership, Initiative, and Teamwork: You have extensive experience with matter management and supervising/delegating to junior attorneys and staff. You approach challenges with a growth mindset. You possess the ability to work well within a team and establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and others. You are capable of prioritizing the business and professional interests of the Firm and have experience utilizing your network and resources to promote the needs of an organization.

Compensation: An attractive compensation package (tailored to experience), with a target base salary of $200,000-$220,000 per year (exempt). Counsel at the Firm are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses. Outten & Golden offers our employees a robust benefits package including healthcare benefits.
