Our empowerment activities include

Income-generation activities include

• provision of internal revolving loan funds
• marketing of the Ugandan women's craft products in the U.S. and Canada
• business development assistance
• cash crop agriculture activities
  
  

Education and training activities include

• scholarship and sponsorship programs for over 200 children
• girls' education initiative program to keep young girls in school
• training programs for women as well as teachers
  
  

Community empowerment programs include

• partnering with a northern Uganda community on its primary school which has over 500 students and 18 teachers and 9 support staff
• partnering with a northern Uganda community on a clinic serving over 5000 people
• assisting our Jinja women's group with a home building program to provide women a decent place to live where they can move out of the slums and stabilize their lives
  
  

Prior to working with OU, our women participants were normally living on less than $2 per day, and were supporting 8 to 10 children and orphans in their households. Many are widows whose husbands died in the war, or from AIDS.

We do not give handouts but work on building capacity and encouraging those we work with to help themselves.

Outreach Uganda is seeking a volunteer with experience in Amazon and/or WooCommerce e-commerce sales to help improve the online performance of our handcrafted Ugandan products. Your expertise will directly support programs that empower women and educate children in rural Uganda.

Responsibilities

• Review and improve existing Amazon and WooCommerce product listings
• Conduct keyword research to identify high-performing search terms
• Optimize product titles, descriptions, and backend SEO
• Improve product photography by recommending or creating higher-resolution images
• Add or source lifestyle photos that better showcase products in use
• Enhance product listings to increase visibility, click-through rates, and conversions
• Use AI tools to assist with keyword research, content optimization, and listing improvements
• Analyze competitor listings and recommend best practices
