Afternoon Shift Lead Barista @ Outlaw Coffee
Location: Hayden, ID
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Pay: $12.00 / hour tips (with tips average $20-25/hr, potential for higher!)
Position Summary
Outlaw Coffee is hiring an Afternoon Shift Lead to lead the shop during the afternoon shift and closing. This is a leadership role responsible for the bar, drink quality, and end-of-day procedures. Barista experience is required; we will train the right candidate to lead.
Responsibilities
- Run the afternoon shift and manage the closing process
- Lead and direct baristas on shift; assign positions during rushes and keep service fast and friendly
- Maintain drink quality and consistency standards
- Handle midday restock, closing prep, and setup for the morning crew
- Complete end-of-day cash handling and reconciliation
- Make sound decisions on the floor when owners or managers are off-site
- Communicate shift updates, supply needs, and any incidents to management
Requirements
- Prior barista experience is required (espresso, milk steaming, drive-thru speed)
- Strong leadership skills or clear potential to develop them
- Reliable, punctual, and able to stay organized under pressure
- Excellent customer service skills
- Comfortable with cash handling and basic closing tasks
- Availability for majority afternoon and closing shifts; weekend availability required (at least one day per weekend)
