Job Summary
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for managing the admissions process from inquiry to move-in while supporting census development and quality mix. This role serves as a key liaison between residents, families, referral sources, and internal departments to ensure a smooth transition into the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the admissions process
- Conduct tours for prospective residents, families, and referral sources
- Handle walk-in, phone, and electronic inquiries and follow up promptly
- Obtain, review, and verify clinical, financial, and insurance information
- Screen and evaluate prospective residents against admission criteria
- Partner with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, and social services
- Ensure all admission documentation is accurate and complete
- Assist with census development and referral source relationship building
- Address resident and family concerns during admission and transition
- Prepare admissions reports and track trends
- Participate in community referral events and outreach efforts
- Support Administrator with follow-up on admissions and discharges as needed
- College degree preferred
- Sales or marketing experience (healthcare preferred)
- Familiarity with long-term care or healthcare settings strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
