Summary

Reporting to the Cutting Supervisor, this position is responsible in assisting the Cutting Supervisor in daily tasks and monitoring of quantity and quality.  This position assists the Cutting Supervisor in the Supervisors absence.

Essential Functions

• Work closely with the Cutting Supervisor on schedule priorities.
• Fill in for other cutting team members as necessary.
• Perform all work using teamwork approach with employees including, training of employees, skill assessment and the potential development of all employees.

• Reviews work orders for special cutting instructions as to be sure the correct fabric was spread.
• Load and unload material(s) onto workstations.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of spreading fabric.
• Set up the cut configuration for the fabric.
• Lay out the marker and tape off lengths and splice marks using under lay paper if needed.
• Inspect material to ensure proper shading control according to Black Army Duck Procedure and spreading procedure.
• Inspect materials for flows, proper width and a straight edge.
• Program the cutter with the correct cut file.
• Operate and maintain cutting and spreading equipment safely and effectively.
• Hand cut out the screened pieces top marker.
• Ensure all cut piece are marked with the correct work order numbers.
• Unload all cut parts onto carts or tables separating the screened parts from the non-screened parts.
• Records all cutting data. Properly document yardage used on last roll for work order
• Forecast any potential problems before the first initial cut and continuously improve repeated markers.

• Ensures own production conforms to requirements of quality and schedule.
• Follows approved procedures to complete all tasks. 
• Maintains work area in a clean, repaired and organized manner.
• Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate. 
• Performs duties in other areas as needed
• Assist in other areas of the department or in other departments when needed

Education & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 - 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
