Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant role based in Lowell, MA. This role offers plenty of room to grow with the company. The Staff Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including recording and reconciling financial transactions, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Responsibilities may also include preparing journal entries, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and maintaining accurate general ledger records. The role will also assist with financial reporting, budget tracking, and providing financial data to management for decision-making. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with operations and leadership teams to ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Foundational accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Experience with accounts payable, including overseeing vendors, compliance and 3-way match.
- Experience with accounts receivable, invoicing, and billing processes including revenue recognition and collections.
- Experience with processing payroll through a third-party payroll company (ADP).
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, data entry, and basic reporting. Experience with Aspire landscaping software is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Knowledge of basic tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements; experience in construction, landscaping, or service industries is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Lowell, MA and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- The ability to speak both English and Spanish is a plus.
