Ouray County is accepting resumes and letters of interest for the position of Recovery Manager
Are you passionate about disaster recovery and ready to make a difference in your community? We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Recovery Manager to lead our efforts in designing, implementing, and communicating disaster recovery plans and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with all county departments to assess recovery needs, including property reassessments, rebuilding efforts, infrastructure repairs, and public communication.
- Partner with state and federal agencies to leverage resources and programs for disaster recovery.
- Advocate for community support through legislative, policy, and regulatory initiatives.
- Coordinate restoration and mitigation efforts with critical infrastructure providers.
- Work with volunteers, non-profits, and private-sector partners to address unmet recovery needs.
- Prepare for potential widescale flooding and debris flows, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the chief liaison to impacted citizens and coordinate efforts with local, state, and federal officials.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive local recovery strategy and County Recovery Plan.
- Lead the County Recovery Committee and build a multi-stakeholder alliance.
- Identify funding sources to support local recovery efforts and produce monthly reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a focus on Accounting, Business, Construction Management, or related fields preferred.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Completion of the FEMA Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Professional Development Series within six months of hire.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for NRCS and FEMA disaster recovery programs.
- Familiarity with the Incident Command System and emergency operations management.
