Job Description: Administrative and Communications Manager
:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Thorough knowledge of office software, including but not limited to, Word, Publisher, Constant Contact, Power Point, Facebook, website.
· Experience in use of computers, copiers
· Skilled in verbal and written communication
o Answering phones in courteous manner
o Welcoming congregants and visitors, responding to inquiries in courteous and professional manner
o Directing inquires to appropriate staff in timely fashion
· Able to maintain confidentiality in all verbal, written, and electronic communications, and pastoral appointments
· Able to set and meet deadlines for work assignments
· Answer phones in courteous, professional manner, as office receptionist
· Welcome congregants and visitors to office, responding to inquiries in courteous and professional manner and direct inquires to other staff in timely fashion, if needed
· Manage all digital and print communications to the congregation, staff, and greater community.
o Maintain and update the website
o Attend and record church events/special activities, post to website, Facebook, and other social media
o Write and send weekly newsletters via constant contact
o Create and print worship bulletins
o Print and distribute congregational letters
o Collect/sort/distribute mail
o Maintain online church calendar, including church activities and other building usage
o Create and maintain church leadership directory
o Communicate closing/cancellation of worship/activities with congregation, staff, and media
· Follow-up with visitors with church information and provide pastor with visitor contact information
· Maintain church/sacramental records, membership rosters, worship attendance
· Prepare required certificates for baptism, confirmation, marriages, membership, etc.
· Coordinate volunteers
· Create yearly flower sign-up list and order Sunday altar flowers
· Order office supplies and other supplies as requested by Ministry teams
· Collect yearly reports from Ministry teams and prepare the annual report
· Attend scheduled staff meetings
· Create Power point for worship, on occasion at the request of pastor
· Report any needed equipment or required building repairs
· Manage HVAC System (settings), key fob system (access), Sam’s Club card administration, maintaining non-profit status at businesses
· Initiate repair or inquiry calls to other business accounts
· Other administrative tasks, as requested by pastor, staff, leadership, or other ministry team members
· Office open and staffed- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8-4:30 p.m.
o Will require occasional nights/weekend hours to attending/photographing/recording /publicizing other congregational events (2-4 hours a month)
§ Will receive compensation time back for these activities
· Work time - 32 hours a week, four 8-hour days
· PTO
· Stipend to help fund other benefits (e.g. insurance, retirement)
Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
