Duties
- Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service activities.
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop staff to ensure a high-performing team aligned with company standards.
- Manage employee orientation programs and ongoing training initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Implement effective inventory management practices including purchasing, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and inventory control to maximize sales and minimize loss.
- Drive retail sales through proactive marketing efforts, promotional activities, and excellent customer service.
- Monitor store performance metrics, manage budgets, and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, store policies, and legal requirements while maintaining a welcoming environment for customers and staff alike.
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette and excellent communication skills.
- Supervise shift management duties such as scheduling staff shifts efficiently to meet business needs while maintaining work-life balance for employees.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work culture.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, merchandising, sales management, and retail math.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail bookkeeping practices.
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives to boost store performance.
- Ability to conduct interviews effectively and participate in recruiting efforts for new team members.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, employee orientation programs, training & development techniques.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management skills coupled with administrative experience including budgeting and record keeping.
