Volunteer Role Shared Saturday Community Engagement Coordinator

Our Safe Space is looking for a friendly, organized volunteer to coordinate our growing Shared Saturday monthly community service program.

About Us

Our Safe Space is a small but mighty, 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating welcoming, judgment-free spaces for personal growth, creativity, and connection. We host free workshops, book clubs, and community events for a growing network of nearly 900 members, primarily in Tucson and online.

About Shared Saturday

Shared Saturday is our monthly opportunity to give back to the community. We partner with local nonprofits and community organizations to support meaningful projects such as food drives, donation collections, volunteer activities, and special community initiatives.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys networking, community engagement, and helping good organizations work together.

What You'll Do

  • Build relationships with local nonprofits, charities, and community organizations
  • Identify volunteer opportunities suitable for groups
  • Research and recommend future Shared Saturday projects
  • Coordinate logistics with partner organizations
  • Help recruit volunteers and donations for projects
  • Track upcoming opportunities and project status in a simple Google Sheet
  • Provide regular updates so leadership stays informed without needing to manage day-to-day details
  • Help ensure our Shared Saturday calendar stays full of meaningful opportunities throughout the year

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication skills
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Comfortable reaching out to organizations by email or phone
  • Organized and dependable
  • Ability to follow through and keep projects moving
  • Comfortable using Google Sheets and email
  • Passion for community service and relationship building

Time Commitment

Approximately 2 hours per week, with flexibility depending on upcoming projects.
